Downtown Master Plan
The Town of Fuquay-Varina is leading the effort to develop a Downtown Master Plan. This is in an effort to describe a long-term vision for our Downtown. The Plan will serve as a framework for planning the future of Downtown. This effort will help define goals and projects that enhance the quality of life, economic vitality, and overall experience in Downtown Fuquay-Varina.

FV is really lacking a bookstore. The closest thing we have is guardian angel. Downtown would be a great place for a used bookstore where you can take your coffee and browse.

17KrisA123almost 2 years agoAdding more green spaces/parks/trails. Pedestrian walkway or bridge to connect both downtowns?
FV has a unique advantage above other local downtown areas in that there are two that are only a mile apart. It would be nice for them to be a little less disjointed by connecting them somehow through a safe and scenic pedestrian walkway or bridge, possibly doubling as another green space. Something to fit the charming quaint small town vibe, but something easily accessible and practical to connect both locations. It would encourage more activity and would be a great attraction that might encourage more foot traffic to the local shops and restaurants particularly during farmers markets, events, fairs etc.
12Daniel Dossalmost 2 years agoFinish the splash pad at South Park
Every splash pad that I have taken my kids to has a lip or curb around the edge so that water doesn't leave the water area. Fuquay's doesn't have this, so the ground around the splash pad (where parents sit and watch) is often waterlogged and muddy. Could we get a curb or a nice little sitting wall, instead of a fence? This doesn't have to be an expensive undertaking - just something simple. It would also be nice if the town could plant a few shade trees along the north west side of the splash pad, so that parents or caretakers can have some relief from the hot summer sun when watching their kids. I'd volunteer my time to plant them.
