Will address proximity be considered for use of the new community center or will it be based on resident, or non resident? Thanks!

With the rise of e-sports and Video Games. How will the Center attract Teens and Young Adults who are interested in said category's?

Preston asked about 3 years ago

The Town of Fuquay-Varina Parks, Recreation & Cultural Resources Department recently launched a pilot program offering E-sports.  The Department will continue to evaluate the interest in the E-sports program and support the demand as it grows.  The Department also offers a Teen Council, more info can be found https://www.fuquay-varina.org/878/Teen-Council.

Can you consider making a community swimming pool outside of the center because there is no community pool in Fuquay. It would be really nice to have!

Liz2021 asked about 3 years ago

There are no plans to include a swimming pool as part of the Community Center North / Senior Center Project.  The 2020 Comprehensive Systemwide Parks, Recreation & Cultural Resources Master Plan does identify a swimming pool / aquatics center beyond 2025 and will be reevaluated in the next comprehensive systemwide master plan.

What are the plans for transportation (especially for the elderly) to the Community Center North/Senior Center? Will there be a circulator bus from pickup points such as the current Community Center?

Carolina gal asked about 3 years ago

There is no plan to provide transportation to and from Hilltop Needmore Town Park & Preserve or the Community Center North / Senior Center. The current Community Center offers a service into downtown Raleigh provide by GoTriangle, it does not provide a circulator service around town.

I can’t envision where this center will be located. Is it the old golf clubhouse or a different piece of property? Is there a rough sketch of the proposed facility?

JDaug asked about 3 years ago

This will be a new building.  The old golf clubhouse is located on the northside of Hilltop Needmore Road. The future Community Center North / Senior Center will be located at Hilltop Needmore Town Park & Preserve property to the south of Hilltop Needmore Road.  The Town is currently working with Wake County Public Schools on the site master plan.  Once the Site Master Plan is complete it will be shared with the public through this platform.

Why are we spending most of the money here and hardly any for our community center downtown? This is so far away with no transportation to get there by the common citizen.

Fuquay Ave asked about 3 years ago

The Community Center at South Park was completed in 2007 and serves the area well.  It is located within a mile of downtown.  The Fuquay-Varina Arts Center, which opened in 2018, is also located in the downtown.  Since 2010, the latest Census figures, the town has almost doubled in population.  The new Community Center North / Senior Center will provide additional opportunities for all ages on the north side of town, assist with the growth, and demand for recreational programs

How will the town be reaching out to seniors who do not have access to computers or your online survey?

sww1414 asked about 3 years ago

The Town is hosting two public open houses to provide an opportunity for people to learn more about the Community Center North/Senior Center project and complete this same survey in  paper form.

The Open Houses are scheduled on Mon., Mar 22 from 5:30-8:30 PM at Fleming Loop Park, 503 Fleming Loop Road and Wed., Mar. 24 from 3:30-6:30 PM at the FV Community Center, 820 S. Main Street.

These meetings will be advertised at our facilities, social media, and emails.  We have let the F-V Active Adult Task Force know about this meeting and they are making their members aware.

The survey is also available at the FV Community (820 S. Main St) thru April 5th and anyone can take there.  The Community Center is open M-F from 8 am - 9 pm and Sat from 9 am - 5 pm.

We are also using our database from past and current users to push this survey to via email.
