Current Projects

The Town of Fuquay-Varina is proposing to construct intersection improvements at US 401 (North Main Street) and Mill Creek Drive. The proposed project would include the construction of the following new dedicated turn lanes:&raquo; A second southbound left-turn lane from US 401 onto Wallace Adcock Blvd.&raquo; A northbound right-turn lane from US 401 onto Wallace Adcock Blvd.&raquo; An eastbound left-turn lane from Mill Creek Drive onto US 401&raquo; An eastbound right-turn lane from Mill Creek Drive onto US 401Additional improvements include installing crosswalks with pedestrian refuge islands, Americans with Disabilities Act compliant curb ramps, sidewalks, and tying into the planned Wallace Adcock Boulevard to the east.The Town has secured approximately $1.2 Million in federal funding for design and construction through the NC Capital Area Metropolitan Planning Organization&rsquo;s Locally Administered Projects Program. The total project cost is $1.5 Million and the remaining $300,000 will be Town-funded. Construction is anticipated to begin in early 2023. Comments will be accepted through July 8, 2022.
